I offer counseling to adult individuals.

I provide a warm, compassionate space that emphasizes acceptance and freedom to create change.

It can be a confusing process to find the right therapist for you.

I welcome you to contact me with any questions about my practice or the therapy process itself.

About Jed Lin, LICSW:

It is my honor to connect with many people on their life paths and help contribute to their healing process.

My areas of focus include:
  • trauma/PTSD
  • family of origin issues
  • improving depression and anxiety
  • LGBTQ identities and sexuality
  • race/cultural identity
  • relationship issues
  • life transition
  • childhood abuse/neglect
  • healthy communication and boundaries

Training & Experience:
I have 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I graduated from the University of Washington with a Masters in Social Work and participate in continuing education to further my learning as a therapist. I have also taught classes at the University of Washington School of Social Work.

My therapy training and experience include:
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Re-processing)
  • Mindfulness
  • DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
  • Trauma-informed therapy interventions

EMDR therapy is a particularly powerful approach to address trauma and past difficult events. Clients who have tried other kinds of therapy with little benefit find that EMDR is able to reduce or resolve the effects of past trauma and difficult events in a significant way. EMDR can also be helpful for reducing pain and decreasing the possibility of developing PTSD after recent traumatic incidents.

Approach:
I see therapy as a joint process and a collaborative relationship. You bring your knowledge of yourself and your life experiences. I bring my education and experience as a therapist and in life. My role as a therapist is to be a compassionate, caring guide and witness in your process of healing.

We will work to gain insight into how the past has impacted you and explore how to improve your present life and future.  I can help you build towards true self-acceptance, and to honor your strengths and inherent resiliency.
